Brief History

  • Pilotage & towage division of Badan Pengusahaan Pelabuhan started its operation

    1960

    All seaport in Indonesia were divided into 4 territories, becoming Perum Pelabuhan I, II, III, IV

    1984

    The 4 Perum Pelabuhan transformed as SOEs. The pilotage & towage became a division of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Persero)

    1992

    Based on Shipping Act No 17/2008, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Persero) transformed itself from “part regulator” into only a Public Port Operator.

    2008

    PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Persero) transformed its trade name as Indonesia Port Corporation (“IPC”) and PT JAI maintained its position as a pilotage & towage division

    2012

    PT JAI, was spun off from IPC and officially became an independent enterprise as a subsidiary of IPC on July 13, 2013. PT JAI started its operation in September 2014.

    2013

    Having 3 consecutive years of profit and the largest and most profitable pilotage & towage company. PT JAI aimed for IPO on Dec 22, 2017, at IDX to achieve sustainable growth.

    2017

    The signing of cooperation on Pilotage and Towage Services between Pontianak IPC and Port Service Unit Head (“KUPP”) of Telok Melano and Kendawangan KUPP

    2019

    MoU signing for Java 1 Power and The signing of Cooperation for Vessel Services at the Special Terminal of PT Nusantara Regas in the Waters of the Thousand Islands, DKI Jakarta Province
