The state-owned enterprise Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) PT Jasa Armada Indonesia Tbk (IPCM) recorded a revenue increase of 5.5% to IDR 598.8 billion from IDR 567.6 billion in the same period last year. The President Director of IPCM, Shanti Puruhita, explained that the company’s strategy to boost revenue from businesses outside the Pelindo Group can keep IPCM’s financial performance stable. “Our efforts to improve operational performance with strategic partners continue to show results in line with expectations.”
“The expansion we are undertaking in the Eastern Indonesia region has also shown increasingly better and rising revenue potential,” explained Shanti in the Public Expose presentation, Thursday (29/8/2024). The largest contribution to revenue came from ship towing services amounting to Rp512.2 billion or 85.5% of total revenue, while the contribution from transportation and other services was 8.1% or Rp48.8 billion. Revenue from ship towing services, particularly at the Special Terminal (Tersus), experienced a significant increase of 27.7% or Rp183.2 billion compared to the same period last year, which was Rp143.5 billion.
This is supported by the improvement in performance in several existing operational areas as well as new operational areas in Eastern Indonesia. At the Public Port, there was also an increase of 14.7% to Rp250.9 billion from Rp218.7 billion YoY. Then, at the Terminal for Private Use (TUKS), there was also a 9.6% increase to Rp115.8 billion from Rp105.6 billion YoY.
IPCM experienced a significant increase in asset revenue from 1.52 trillion or approximately 4.4% from the end of 2023 to 1.59 trillion in the first half of 2024, supported by a 10.8% increase in the company’s current assets from Rp899.6 billion at the end of December 2023 to Rp986.3 billion at the end of June 2024, in line with revenue growth.
“We also thank all customers, strategic business partners, and other stakeholders for the good synergy that has enabled IPCM to record positive revenue in the first semester of this year,” said IPCM’s Director of Finance, Human Resources, and Risk Management, Dessy Emastari Prihatiningtyas. As of April 1, 2024, the Government, through the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, officially granted the delegation to the Port Business Entity (BUP) IPCM to carry out Pilotage and Towage Services in the waters of Obimayor Island-West Coast within the Extraordinary Pilot Waters of Laiwui Port, North Maluku Province. Obi Island, South Halmahera, North Maluku, will be developed into a nickel mining and smelter center with a production capacity of nickel sulfate up to 240 thousand tons per year and is part of the National Strategic Project to support the development of nickel downstreaming in Eastern Indonesia. The process of mining nickel ore (nickel ore), limonite, and saprolite, which is partly carried out by Harita Nickel, a mining and processing industry group since 2010 under the banner of PT Trimegah Bangun Persada. (TBP).
The commercialization of IPCM’s business, in addition to serving the entire Regional 2 area of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), can also be seen from various services in IPCM’s BUP and various collaborations between IPCM and its partners, which continue to be actively conducted, including in the TUKS area of PT Cemindo Gemilang Bayah-Banten. Tersus PT Nusantara Regas Kepulauan Seribu, Tersus PT Jawa Satu Power-Cilamaya, PLTU Kanci I PT Cirebon Electric Power and PLTU Kanci II PT Energi Prasarana, PT Lang Lang Laju Layang in Meulaboh-Aceh, Teluk Weda and Laiwui – Halmahera, North Maluku; Ship to Ship Muara Sungai Musi PT Maritim Barito Perkasa and PT Karya Pacific Shipping. “The extension of the IPCM service cooperation agreement with strategic partners reflects our commitment to continuously meet user expectations and improve and enhance service quality for better customer satisfaction,” said Shanti.
